The Zen enlightenment
experience is a revelation of the full relationality of all that exists, and hence of the
nonexistence of any such selves, human or divine.
Not only has it given traditional theists such as Plantinga an «opportunity for an easy victory» but, more importantly, it has allowed such theists to avoid addressing the real question that evil poses: Given the incredible amount and pervasiveness of the pain and suffering that continues to be
experienced by actual individuals, is there some plausible reason not to assume «that God is guilty of
nonexistence» (ER 46)?
However, what doesn't seem sensible in my
experience, is the
nonexistence of encouraging exercise in this system.
With this
experience the ancient baptized figured that they were immortal, thus, the baptized couldn't «go to Limbo» which was secretly identical with the Eastern «Nirvana»,
nonexistence, but were immortal to suffer on «forever» if a conspicuous heaven wasn't granted.
