The title of this blog — No Frakking Consensus — is
an expression of my feelings sense of exasperation with these attitudes.

of modern hermeneutics, Schleiermacher defined religion as the
feeling of absolute dependence and understood Scripture as a detailed
expression of the faith that satisfies our need to
feel a
sense of absolute dependence.

When our consciousness surrenders into the universal, a radiance grows until we blossom into a fuller
expression often resulting in a
sense of timelessness, a

If a student shared for several minutes (which often
felt eternal), I began to
feel a
sense of urgency that I would convey in my posture and facial

of the passage
of time, and Susan Vecsey's Napeague Bay, Montauk (2012), in which the subtle color stained into the canvas evokes the emotion
of a place remembered and deeply
felt.
Measures utilized were the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), the
Expression of Feelings Questionnaire, Parenting
Sense of Competence Scale, Daily Hassles, and the Parental Satisfaction Questionnaire.
The 27 items are divided among three subscales which assess the support and
sense of togetherness between family members (e.g., «We put a lot
of energy into what we do at home»); the extent to which family members express their thoughts and
feelings (e.g., «Family members often
feel like keeping their
feelings to themselves») and; the
expression of negative emotions towards members
of the family unit (e.g., «Family members sometimes get so angry they throw things»).
