I have
extra pie dough in the fridge from some hand pies last week and I've been trying to find something new to make with it.
If you are like me, you wrap up
the extra pie dough, stick it in the fridge or freezer for «later use».

The
pie dough is made from scratch and to make it
extra special I have combined the apples with blackberries in the filling.
If you want to make those pretty
pie crust leaves that you see on our
pie, just buy some leaf cookie cutters and roll out the
extra dough and make some leaves.
I just poured the
extra into ramekins and baked along with the
pie Or you can also make little tarts and fill them with the
extra filling, you'll probably have enough
dough scraps to make a few tarts!
Very carefully and loosely press the circular bottoms into
pie trays (they may crack if you are not careful - patch with
extra dough if needed).

pie with the top crust, trim any
extra dough hanging over the side... leaving about a quarter of an inch over the
pie plate.

However, you may have some
dough left over, in which case you can try to make a couple of
extra pies, or bake up the
pie scraps with a little bit of cinnamon and sugar.
If you have
extra dough from the bottom crust (this will require a roll - out
dough, rather than a press - in), use seasonally - themed cookie cutters, like leaves or turkeys, and bake crust «cookies» along with the
pie — just keep a close eye, and remove them as soon as they're done; they will cook quicker than the actual
pie.
For
extra slumber - party fun, prepare the
dough and sauce, then put the toppings in bowls so kids can decorate their own
pies.
