I personally try to stick to natural carbs and avoid the processed ones but I don't beat myself up for eating
an extra piece of fruit.
My advice would be to really slowly start increasing your food intake, even if it's just eating 1
extra piece of fruit per day for 1 - 2 weeks, and then the next week add a little bit more, etc..
So for example, this week, just eat one
extra piece of fruit each day.
