Follow this general guideline
for fabric length: For a tie sling or a torso carry, most people need about 2.8 yards, for most wraparound positions, choose between 4.6 yards (up to 140 lbs and 5» 8»), 5 yards (up to 180 lbs and 6» tall) and 5.5 yards (over 180 pounds and 6 feet tall).
Stylist's tips Make your own cafe blind by cutting a long strip of
voile fabric the length of your window, then hem the bottom edge and create a channel the width of your rod at the top.
The length and amount of fabric you use depends on the dimensions of your table, so measure out how long you want your runner to be and make sure you add at least two additional inches in
your fabric length (you'll see why later).
That accounts for the two extra inches we added in
the fabric length (cool!).
Instructions: Cut a strip of
fabric the length and 4 times the width of your desired finished ribbon length and width.
Before cutting
the fabric length, we decided that our slipcovers would have a simple hem, extending 2 inches past the seat bottom.
If I choose to sew a lining on, I don't need to buy double
the fabric length... right?
(This is a no - sew method, so you'll need double
the fabric length.
I suppose if you're going to add a lining you might not need double
the fabric length.
But honestly, this method works best if you do go ahead and buy double
the fabric length.
