Step 4) Lay out
the fabric right side up and fold the two hemmed edges to the centre so that they overlap by 20 cm.
Place the main
fabric right side up and position the pressed strips, right sides facing and matching raw edges along one side (be sure to position them so that they sit inside the cafetiere handle).

up with a great towel bib that doesn't need to go over the baby's head.
The
fabric will bunch
up; just gently help it along until it gives and your tube turns
right -
side out.
Lay one piece of the
fabric on the floor with the hemmed
side facing down,
right side up.
Lay the second piece of
fabric directly on top of the first piece, also with the hemmed
side facing down,
right side facing
up.
Flip the pattern over and pin it, wrong
side up, to a single thickness of the
right side of your backing
fabric.
Lay your pattern down face -
up on the
right side of a single thickness of your front
fabric.
Open the zipper
up all the way, then align your
fabric to the first piece,
right sides together, so that the zipper will be even on both
sides.
Another option is to double
up the layers of
fabric by cutting out two identical pieces for the front and back, sewing down the open edges whilst the pieces are pinned
right sides together, then flipping the bodice
right way out, then adding the straps.
The other downside of striped jersey is that the recommended zigzag stitch shows
up on the
right side in places where the thread doesn't match the
fabric.
The advantage of slip basting first, is that we can baste the seams together from the
right side of the
fabric, thus ensuring everything was perfectly lined
up.
Make sure to match
up your
fabric pattern on the front and back panels so that it is going in the
right direction on both
sides.
We're about 3 stories off the ground
up here in our bedroom, and we've got paper covering the lower half of our windows
right now (til the shutters arrive), so we opted not to get the (
fabric) privacy liners on the back
side of each shade... but that it an option if you need it.
Match
up the two
fabrics,
right sides facing in.
Holding both layers of the
fabric securely, turn the shade over so that the main
fabric is
right -
side -
up.
Lay the main
fabric right side down and lay the lining
fabric on top of it,
right side up.
Cut a length of
fabric 0.5 cm longer than the phone and 0.5 cm wider, place it
right side up, then fold in half and stitch the two long
sides together.
Right side up, lay out your main
fabric on a flat surface.
Place a main
fabric half circle wrong
side up (
right side together with the zipper).
Layer contrast B
fabric,
right side up, on top of contrast A
fabric and top stitch neatly all round.
Remove the
fabric, take out the pins, and place the top back on the stool, this time
right side up.
