Apple is
facing a lawsuit from Omni MedSci, a company that says Apple is infringing on its
patented technology with the Apple
Watch's heart rate sensor, reports Axios.
This time around, Apple is
facing a lawsuit from Omni MedSci claiming that the former has infringed on its
patented heart rate sensor technology which is used on the Apple
Watch.
Microsoft's
patent FIG. 1C noted above shows us a block diagram of components pertaining to a new security feature called «
Watch - It»; FIG. 2A schematically shows a user holding up a smartwatch with the
Watch It security feature to his
face so that it could identify him; FIG. 2B schematically shows an enlarged view of the field of view of
Watch - It and the
face of the user shown in FIG. 2A and parameters used to determine head orientation of the user and whether the user is
watching Watch - It in accordance with an embodiment of the invention.
There aren't many Samsung Gear S4 rumors yet, but a few have started to emerge, including a
patent spotted by Russian site 3Dnews, which talks about a camera with an optical zoom, that oddly seems to be built into the middle of the
watch face.
The
patent also highlights a strap with a screen on it, giving you shortcuts to your apps, rather than having to swipe through the tiny display on the
watch face to find them.
A new Apple
patent may be hinting at the inclusion of
Face ID in upcoming Apple
Watch installments.
It also has
patents on some pretty futuristic video technologies like recording video as soon as your camera is open, recognizing and tagging
faces or locations, and detecting audio and visual cues like saying «that's beautiful» to select a cover image thumbnail or create anchors for navigating around within a video while
watching.
According to Patently Apple, the wealthy tech brand has filed
patents for the
Face ID facial recognition system on the Apple
Watch.
The
patent, titled «Electronic Device Having Display With Curved Edges», shows a circular
watch face and drawings indicate tech elements that would drive a round screen.

watching closely in the coming months and continue to petition courts and policy makers to level the playing field by giving those who
face the threat of
patent trolls tools to fight back.
