A minimum
of age 1 and
at least 20 pounds, BUT THEY SUGGEST THAT THE
CHILD STAY REAR
FACING AS LONG AS POSSIBLE.
While
children should be placed in a rear -
facing car seat until
at least age 1 and 20 pounds, the American Academy
of Pediatrics now recommends parents keep their
children in rear -
facing seats until age 2, or when they reach the maximum height and weight for their seat.
As I wrote in my blog post they debated, rather than see it as time off for caring for a baby, see it as time off for caregiving, which all
of us will most likely
face at some point, whether we have
children or not.
Extended sick hours during the week and weekends allow your
child to be seen by a familiar
face when necessary, instead
of at an urgent care clinic or emergency facility.
At times, you may be
faced with the task
of flying with your young
child.
