I'm still not sold on rear -
facing cameras on tablets yet.
Rear
facing cameras on a tablet never made any sense to me either, but I video chat on my touchpad more then I do my laptop anymore.
I do not see the point of most rear
facing cameras on a tablet.
Video chat is important, but scanning QR codes, business cards or bar codes are all useful and practical reasons a rear -
facing camera on a tablet remains a good thing.
It's not long before one realises that it's totally rubbish but, more than that, the whole notion of a rear
facing camera on a tablet soon becomes fairly ridiculous.
But hey, I don't really you the rear
facing camera on a tablet anyway's.
Not exact matches
Oddly, there is no rear -
facing camera, which is a staple
on tablets these days.
The front -
facing camera on the MateBook E is more akin to a laptop
camera than the high - megapixel
cameras common
on tablets.
There are two
cameras on the new Nook
tablet, a front
facing 2 MP snapper and a rear 5 MP.
Since the rear -
facing camera is
on that side, when the
tablet is plugged in you'll have to watch out for wires in selfies and during Skype sessions.
One thing it seems Google and T3 can agree
on is that a
tablet is no place for rear -
facing cameras so the Nexus 7 sticks to a 1.2 - Megapixel front -
facing camera which offers decent enough clarity and quality for video calling over Skype or Google + Hangouts.
Not that a rear
camera is a huge selling point
on a
tablet for many, but it's worth noting that the new Amazon Kindle HDX 8.9 has an 8MP rear cam (although the 7 - inch version only has a front -
facing lens).
By contrast, the competitors» 7 - inch devices are quite different because Amazon includes a front -
facing camera, while Barnes and Noble does not include
cameras on any of its
tablets (if you plan
on taking photos or video with your
tablet, you can stop reading now).
One thing I liked was a picture frame
on the
tablet that you can use the front -
facing camera to snap a picture of you, and be greeted by yourself whenever you turn in
on.
Curiously, the micro USB and HDMI ports sit
on the top side of the
tablet alongside the 3.5, near the front -
facing camera.
