Reading this verse seems to say we are saved when we believe and that once saved we may which implies either to continue to believe or continue to
live our
lives for us though preferably it is best to follow Christ with all our heart because if we walk according to the flesh satan has the opportunity to destroy our
lives through the consequences
of sin till we repent.Whereas if we walk in righteousness we are covered under the blood
of Christ and protected from satans influence though he can oppress us he is on Gods leash
as God is sovereign and in this
way satan is used to perfect our
faith and draw us closer to Christ.
For others, it's a nagging thought —
as you work out your
faith on your own, you keep coming back to this Jesus, and you can't make sense
of him all the
way, but you also can't accept everything he says because it seems somehow too hard to
live that
way, or too complex, or too simple, or merely out
of your grid

If he believes that God is at the beginning
as well
as at the end, the Alpha
as well
as the Omega; if his hope for the future arises out
of his
faith in God's eternal presence; it is because he discerns the manner

life and teaching, and not least in the bitter and apparently senseless tragedy
of his death.

as he cried, «The moss did verily grow upon mine eyebrows»; some Kernahan, born without arms and legs, but by sheer grit fighting his

of Commons; some Henry M. Stanley, born in a workhouse and buried in Westminster Abbey; some Dante, his Beatrice dead, he himself an exile from the city
of his love, distilling all his agony into a song that became the «voice
of ten silent centuries», or some more obscure and humble
life close at hand where handicaps have been mastered, griefs have been built into character, disappointments have been turned into trellises, not left a bare, unsightly thing — such incarnations
of fortitude and
faith have infectious power.
Personally we should expect persecution when we are following Jesus and walking by the spirit Jesus said that

This theoretical attitude, which comes so naturally to modern scientific humankind, is likely to be far more destructive to Christianity than any attack that the atheists might launch, because it can cut the very heart out

of himself or herself
as having given up the
faith.

There are four affirmations about Jesus Christ that historically have been stressed in Christian
faith: (1) Jesus is truly human, bone
of our bone and flesh
of our flesh,
living a human
life under the same human conditions any one
of us faces — thus Christology, statement
of the significance
of Jesus, must start «from below,»
as many contemporary theologians are insisting; (2) Jesus is that one in whom God energizes in a supreme degree, with a decisive intensity; in traditional language he has been styled «the Incarnate Word
of God»; (3) for our sake, to secure human wholeness
of life as it moves onward toward fulfillment, Jesus not only
lived among us but also was crucified for us — this is the point
of talk about atonement wrought in and by him; (4) death was not the end for him, so it is not
as if he never existed at all; in some
way he triumphed over death, or was given victory over it, so that now and forever he is a reality in the
life of God and effective among humankind.

well just thinking about these wars in the muslim / mid-east world over religious differences (which may reflect mental states in many
ways) in a world where most realize that
living in the present moment is best
way to happiness and being in the moment in non-strife and awareness through the teachings
of masters such
as found in the buddhist, taoist, zen, etc., etc., etc. spriritually based practices
of religious like thought and teachings, etc. that to ask these scientifically educated populace whom have access to vast amounts
of knowledges and understandings on the internet, etc. to believe in past beliefs that perhaps gave basis and inspiration to that which followed — but is not the end all
of all times or knowledges — and is thus — non self - sustaining in a belief that does not encompass growth
of knowledge and understanding
of all truths and being
as it is or could be — is to not respect the intelligence and minds and personage
of even themselves — not to be disrespected nor disrespectful in any
way — only to point out that perhaps too much is asked to put others into the cloak
of blind
faith and adherance to the past that disregards the realities
of the present and the potential
of the future... so you try to
live in the past — and destroy your present and your future — where is the intelligence in that — and why do people continually fear monger or allow to be fear — mongered into this destructive vision
of the future based upon the past?
It makes sense, then, that we would connect with Him in all sorts
of unique

There are places where he resorts to the imagery
of myth and speaks
of Christ
as if he were
living an unseen
life with God in a heavenly realm above, from which he would descend to appear on the earth at the imminent end - time.38 At other times Paul could speak
of the church
as the body
of Christ,
of which the Christian believers formed «the limbs and organs».39 He exhorted the Galatians to «put on Christ
as a garment», 40 he said to the Romans, «Let Christ Jesus himself be the armor that you wear», 41 and he told the Galatians how he was in travail until they «took the shape
of Christ».42 In various
ways Paul spoke
of the risen Christ
as an indwelling presence in the believer, the most moving passage being his own testimony, I have been crucified with Christ; the
life I now
live is not my
life, but the
life which Christ
lives in me; and my present bodily
life is
lived by
faith in the Son
of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.»
And it includes the new
life of the Christian
as the enactment
of the
way of love in a community
of those who
live in this
faith.
They present the Church
as the Church
of those who
as sinners accept in
faith the human
life of all, with its ordinariness and its burdens, so that we experience our own lot
as that
of the Church, and ourselves
as its members in that
way;
as the Church which is believed because we believe in God, the Church whose belief is not to be identified with what it experiences; above all
as the Church which is the promise
of salvation for the world which has not yet expressly recognized itself
as part
of the Church, the Church
as the sacramentum
of the world's salvation.
And, watch for a few others that impacted my
faith but found their
way into other categories
of the week, such
as daily

While Evangelicals do not have such formal procedures, they have informal

Another preacher preaching what ever goes is ok with Christianity... If your going to preach Christianity based on the Bible, then you might
as well forget gay marriages are ok... If you want to twist it around then thats up to you... Paul said, «The Berens were
of noble charachter because they didn't believe what they heard, but they took what they heard and confirmed it with the Bible... So its like the Yen or Yang... Its either Gods church or Satans Church... Can't be any other
way... Do I hate gays, no... I have some very close friends that I have had for over 30 years that are gay, but I think they will be accountable for their
life styles... Thats the thing about Christianity, we are held accountable, its not an everything goes belief... Its rules we have to follow... And rules we will be held accountable... So maybe this preacher needs to start a dfferent
faith or religion... One where there are no rules and where its people are not accountable for their actions...
while breifly going thru this artical it was makeing my stomach turn, this is just what the devil wants is for doubt and confusion, christianity is growing stronger than ever, souls are being saved and
lives are changing every day, and do nt for one minute think any different, or try tp put christians down, why would we loose
faith, god answers our prayers everyday, think what you want and do what you do, but do nt try to put things in other people's opinion or minds, jesus died for our sins, so that we can have better
lives and be forgiven for our sins here on earth and move on to a beter place, becouse souls do nt die «read the bible, if you do nt understand it, find a church that can help you learn a better
way of life, I pray for everyone out there that does nt know jesus christ
as ther savior to accept what he has to offer to you «love forgiveness and ever lasting
life «Christians» stay strong and [ass the word
of god on and share all your tedtimonies in
life» god bless everyone»»
The words translated
as faith in the New Testament mean both a belief and a
way of life.
My own
faith in him and loyalty to him
as the Lord Jesus Christ is in no
way dependent on these apocalyptic Son -
of - man passages; it hinges upon all that he was and did and said during what we know
of his earthly ministry and his continuing presence
as the
living Christ.
Even though such a
way of faith may exist principally
as a vision, and be
as yet largely beyond our grasp
as a whole
way of life, nonetheless it is the only framework
of reference for human meaning to the man
of contemporary Christian
faith.
In fact, I believe that now, more than ever, we are all called to stand in
faith,
as prophetic outposts for God's
way of life,
as glimpses
of the
ways of life in Christ.
Tim i found it liberating to just do what the Lord wants you to do i work within his boundarys and yes i attend church and enjoy it.I love the people and i love hearing the word and worshipping the Lord even if others are still bound up with traditions thats not my walk thats theres. My focus is to do what the Lord wants me to do.There have been times i have said no to the pastor he does nt understand why i choose not to lead the worship.i query him
as well regarding the idea that its not just performing a function because there is a need our hearts have to be in the right place so that the Lord can use us but he did nt understand where i was coming from and thats okay because
of that i just said no until my heart is right i am better not being involved in leading. But i am happy to be an encouragement to others in the worship team i havent wanted to be the leader i have done that in the past.So my focus has been just the singing and being part
of different worship teams i think the Lord has other plans
as the groups i am in seem to be changing at the same time i am aware that i do nt to worry about change
as the Lord knows whats best.I used to be quite comfortable leading the music but that was before when i was operating in my own self confidence and pride. The Lord did such a huge change in my
life that i lost my self confidence and that is not a bad thing at all
as my spiritual growth has been incredible. The big change was my identity moved from me and what i could do to knowing who i was in Christ and that he is my strength and confidence. Now i know that without him i can do nothing in fact i am dependent on his empowerment through his holy spirit all the time in everything. In the weekend i was asked to lead the music at another church i attend multiple churchs although i attend two regularly one has services in the morning and one has services in the evening so the two do nt really clash. In the weekend i was asked to lead the music its been two years since i did that and i was worried on how i would go.All i can say is that it went really well and because i stepped out in
Faith the Lord really blessed the morning to the congregation. The difference is knowing that i serve the Lord with the gifts he has given me but my heart has to be right and when i do it in his
way it builds up the body and it brings glory to him.May the Lord continue to show you what he wants you to do even though others may not understand your reasons i just want you to know that you do nt have to pull away completely just work within the boundarys that the Lord gives you and do nt feel pressured by others expectations to do anything that feel uncomfortable.Be involved just
as you feel lead by the holy spirit even if it is in a very minor
way take small steps.regards brentnz
However, if church membership is not experienced by adults
as a
way of living in the world that depends on
faith in Jesus Christ, infant baptism may only foster spiritual complacency and reliance on an empty ritual.
