† Just because a Blind Christian has the need to feel as if they posses a traditional
family lifestyle,
religious holidays where the give their kids chocolate eggs, dvd gifts
on christmas of movies full of women acting as the equals of men (Against the bible), a lack of understanding culture, and the feeling of belonging, does not mean all people need / want / or feel that way.
I am not the most
religious person
on this earth, but I am spiritual, and I do believe that it was my complete and utter surrender of my
holidays to give to my December birth
families, that really was whole - hearted, no agenda, just sheer, utter love for these incredible two women who I feel to this day are my sisters, this small sacrifice that saved our
family in some spiritual ways...
Adults are supposed to provide the perfect shiny happy
holiday (whether it's
religious Christmas or Hanukkah or cultural Christmas or some mix) OR hold the line against someone else's
holiday encroaching
on your
family.
Focus
on what the
holidays signify to you For some, the
holidays are about time spent with
family; for others,
religious observance is key.
The
holidays were spent honoring
religious traditions, food traditions,
family time traditions, decorating traditions, who visited who traditions, TV show traditions, sports traditions and
on and
on ad nauseum.
Families who hold Christmas as a sacred
religious occasion may also be horrified by the devilish intrusion
on their revered
holiday.
I realize the politically correct term is «Happy
Holidays» and that's the phrase we use in more general channels, like
on our OP blog and Facebook page, since we work with authors from all different
religious affiliations, but since this is my blog, and since my
family celebrates Christmas, I get to also wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
A schedule that designates in which parent's home the minor child will reside
on given dates, especially designating notable dates such as
holidays, school
holidays,
religious holidays, vacation, birthdays and dates of significance to the
family (or a formula or method for determining the schedule);
