I'm not
a fan of protein powders, though — what would you recommend as a substitute?

a fan of the protein powders but I do take them when I can't have real food.

protein powder since it is so processed that it weirds me out, but I do like to add other supplements to smoothies.
While I am not a big

protein powders due to glycation issues, I don't believe it is that much

I'm not generally a
fan of single - macronutrient products like
protein powders anyway and try to get my nutrients from whole foods as much as possible, but it's nice to have the option sometimes if I'm making a shake or smoothie to get a
protein boost as I just haven't seemed to build up the stomach capacity on an plant based diet to fit all that food in there, and sometimes I just want a break from nut / seed butters, quinoa and whole soy.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not a huge
fan of casein
protein powder.
For non-whey
protein powders, I'm a
fan of Optimum Nutrition's 100 % Casein
Powder.
Mainly because I'm not a
fan of baking with
protein powder - I don't really like the taste and texture it gives.
If you already don't like it, then you definitely shouldn't be using it... I've never tried soy
protein, so I have no idea what it tastes like, but I am a big
fan of soy milk and tofu (well,
fan of their taste anyway) so I probably wouldn't hesitate to use the soy
protein powder.
I am not a big
