A lot of that decision I believe had to do with the fact that the company had
fantastic success in the game industry with college sports like College Football, and though they could make a college baseball game live up to the same sort of standards.
Not just a brand new genre for the developer, a first person shooter, but also the studios first new IP
in over a decade, Overwatch was surely a huge gamble for the team and something that was not a guaranteed
success, but as often happens for the developer the gamble payed off and the
game turned out to be another
fantastic hit for the studio.
