room (our table sits right in front
of this
wall as well).
I adore the
wall of windows over there on the
far side
of the
room, and how they allow the view to just keep going and going!
At the
far end
of the family
room, blend - into - the -
wall white storage cabinets offer function without adding visual weight for a bright, airy space.
To define the dining area from the kitchen beyond, the end
wall has been painted a deeper shade
of lilac to the rest
of the
room, and lilac touches, such as a rug and striped table runner, help to
further define the eating zone.
I'm not done with the
room yet, I still have a big piece
of artwork I'm doing for the
far wall along with some smaller details.
We are in the process
of making over my 12 yr olds
room but have only gotten as
far as painting the
walls.
To
further enhance the warm mood, paint the
wall in this area a softer shade than used in the rest
of the
room.
So here's an update on the dining
room so
far: The tray ceiling and
walls were given a fresh coat
of paint; the buffet was sprayed and returned to the
room; dining
room chairs have been sprayed and have new seat covers (which I'll share along with the table); and the china cabinet has been sprayed SW Honorable Blue.
The existing large window and doors let in plenty
of natural light but now that the
wall is gone and the trim is updated, the
room looks
far larger than before.
The curtained off
wall is by
far my favorite part
of the
room - what a great way to hide storage!
