In these cases, earning is based on the first letter of the
fare basis
code, which may correspond to an economy cabin
fare class including Y, B, M, H, Q, U, V, W, S, T,
L, K, or G.
For example on Korean Air economy
fare bucket
codes L, U, Q, N, T only earn 50 % base miles.
Those booking into the cheapest
fare codes (G, O & Q) will only earn redeemable miles at a rate of 25 % of the miles flown while those paying more (
fare codes H, K,
L, M, N S & V) will earn double that.
