Farfalle with Carrot, Sage and Scallions won our grand prize in 1993.
(Note: You can switch out the pasta
for farfalle or penne if it's already in your pantry, and use regular broccoli if it's easier to find in your local market.)
I
used farfalle pasta which I would use less of next time — and likely do egg noodles instead.
Tonight, you'll toss freshly
cooked farfalle with your pre-marinated grape tomatoes and feta cheese for a filling meal that's vibrant and creamy.
Technically, it's supposed to be served with white cheddar grits, but we were fresh out of white cheddar, and decided to serve it over whole
wheat farfalle instead.
Not pictured however, is my Harris Teeter trip where I bought frozen edamame, a bunch of kale, onion, grape tomatoes, 5 lb bag of yukon potatoes, lemon, 3 lb bag of oranges, 1 lb of ground sausage and a box
of farfalle pasta.
Add farfalle and cook until al dente, about 2 minutes less than package directions.

boil farfalle pasta.
Made the rest as directed and served with Rocky Mountain Salmon and Arugula - Walnut

For farfalle: roll out the pasta to its thinnest point using a tortilla press between parchment paper (our favorite) or a pasta machine.
Combine
cooked farfalle pasta (1 box) with the pesto and vegetables and mix well.
I
used farfalle for this batch because I find that the little bowties catch the sauce nicely.
Prepare 8 oz whole
wheat farfalle or other pasta per package directions and drain.
Since I haven't found a gluten - free version
of farfalle, I used Fresh & Easy brown rice fusilli instead.

Our friends repeatledly emphasized that
La Farfalle is a must - go, but we did not have time to try it!
Farfalle with Sausage and Roasted Broccoli is not haute cuisine, but it is simple and tasty, and perfect for a weeknight meal.
I had to use what I had on hand which included regular butter instead of light, 1 % milk instead of skim, and
Farfalle pasta instead of egg noodles.
