We crossed over to the other side of the Thames, and checked out
a fashion photography exhibit at Somerset House, and then wandered through Covent Garden, watching the street performers and talking about an awesome London treasure hunt website which I think I'm going to have to incorporate into one of my later dates.

Some of the art
exhibits that stayed most with me this year were the astoundingly rich Raghubir Singh
photography retrospective at the Met Breuer, the genuinely odd show of Rei Kawakubo at the Metropolitan Museum (less about
fashion than about sculpture), and the impressive Robert Longo show of large charcoal compositions at the Brooklyn Museum.
German - born Tillmans, who has worked and
exhibited in London in recent years, has smashed the boundary between commercial
photography and art: much of his early work was for
fashion magazines, including a famous image of four of his friends sitting in the branches of a tree, not wearing any clothes at all.
Sassen, best known for her flamboyant
fashion photography, will
exhibit a series of mainly black and white pictures taken during a trip to a village deep in the rainforest of Suriname.
Olivia Locher's work has been

In 2000, he launched headfirst into the arts by founding thedramaloft, an incubator for performing and visuals arts, which in 2007 - 2009
exhibited fashion photography as works of art and engaged
fashion designers in costume design.
