The Kindle can turn pages much
faster than this ereader using partial refresh, but it leaves E-ink residue until a full refresh is performed — which looks bad and can cause headaches.

The old school Nook Touch with a single core 800 MHz processor is just as
fast if not
faster than any of these dual - core Android
ereaders.
I also had the sense that the
eReader Touch Edition's page turns are neither as
fast or as flicker - free as on the Nook, but they are still far better
than on the previous Kobo — and they even beat out the Amazon Kindle (third generation).

than Android
ereaders I've reviewed in the past, and the screen refresh is better with 3rd party apps, but the software is also more basic and there aren't as many features so it comes with some trade - offs.
As far as battery life is concerned it seems pretty typical of Android
ereaders, which are notorious for draining a battery charge
faster than non-Android
ereaders.
Which yes compared to a tablet is slower but today they are a lot
faster than eink
ereaders of years ago.
The folks at
eReader - Store generally put out updates
faster and more frequently
than other retailers, some of which wait for more complete update packages before issuing them, so it could be a few more weeks before the Universe gets updated.
From my experience it's both cheaper and
faster to order a Kobo
ereader from Indigo
than from Kobo directly.
Indigo tries to scare off international customers with extra long shipping estimates but the last time I ordered from them the Kobo
ereader arrived in like 4 days, which is

In addition to offering several additional features, Kindles are a lot
faster and more optimized
than Kobo
ereaders when it comes to manga, comics, and graphic novels.
Having individual files will allow the tool to generate a decent table of contents, and
eReaders will load each chapter and story
faster than they would when dealing with one humongous file.
As with all eInk technology there is still that kind of photo negative look when turning pages (but this only happens when it refreshes every 6 pages), it is less noticeable on this device as the page turns are
faster than on other
eReaders including the new Kindles.
