For whole milk, men drinking more than 1 glass per day had double the risk
for fatal prostate cancer, compared with men drinking less.
3) Reduced Risk Of Some Cancers — Although the connection is not fully understood, a significant body of research has linked high levels of calcium in the blood
with fatal prostate cancer in men.
Furthermore, a 14 % higher risk
for fatal prostate cancer was observed for every 5 kg / m2 increase in BMI, and 18 % increased risk in every 10 cm increase in waist circumference.
The researchers focussed on aggressive prostate cancer, looking at cancers with a high grade and cancers which resulted in death (
fatal prostate cancer).
The study included 47 911 men diagnosed with prostate cancer and 642 of these had
a fatal prostate cancer.
