Because we all have a tendency to overdo food during the holidays, I thought this would be a good time to share my most important juicing tips as well as
my favorite green juice recipe.
I juiced four days a week, creating my most
favorite green juice concoction.
This helps concentrate the nutrients in an easy - to - digest form, since it is much easier to drink a whole lot of vegetables that have been juiced, than to eat them in their whole, fibrous form (for tips on juicing, and

my favorite green juice taste like a grapefruit, and this new recipe I'm about to introduce has a hint of grapefruit as well.

It's a light, lowfat — not usually my
favorite food criterion — and refreshing dressing for summer
greens or a bowl of thinly sliced fennel, oranges, avocado and red onion, which, speaking of myriad possibilities, is also delicious dressed with orange or lime
juice, olive oil, salt & pepper.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup plain Greek or any full fat yogurt / 1/3 cup mayonnaise / 1/3 cup buttermilk / 1 clove garlic, minced (if you happen to have some
green garlic, use it instead) / 1T fresh lemon
juice / huge bunch of fresh chives / Salt & pepper / 1/4 t sriracha or your
favorite hot sauce, to taste, optional.
I added lemon zest, a spike of lemon
juice, and a generous dose of one of my

We enjoyed these Hummus Stuffed Sweet Potatoes with Roasted Chickpeas with a side of lemon garlic
green beans, which I made by simply blanching
green beans in boiling water and then water sautéing them in garlic, lemon
juice and Mrs. Dash Lemon Pepper Seasoning (my
favorite).
OK, here are some
favorites we've been cooking up at my place: - vegetable curry (grind my own whole spices, use whatever veggies we get in our weekly CSA share; radishes / beets, eggplant, squash,
greens, etc)- quick kale (sauteed with coconut oil, chili flakes, garlic, [lemon grass], soy sauce, lemon
juice)- pac choi w / sauteed mushrooms «chinese» style (with fish sauce, rice wine vinegar, jalepeno / chili, soy sauce, etc)- roasted radishes w / poached eggs - «teamwork pasta» — this is your recipe for pepper and cheese pasta, but it helps having two sets of hands to make it in our house... we put an egg on this too of course - tuna pasta (chopped onion, garlic, lemon zest, chili flakes, tuna, olives — easily adaptable to what you already have in the house and like)- roast chicken on friday - roasted sweet potatoes - omlets - challa french toast
12 ounces fresh salmon fillets (4 ounce fillets), skin on 2 yukon gold potatoes, boiled and cooled 2 hardboiled eggs 1 pound fresh
green beans (I used a mix of yellow wax beans and
green beans) 12 kalamata olives 2 tomatoes, diced 8 cups arugula or your
favorite leafy
green juice of 1/2 lemon 1 tablespoon fresh dill 1 clove garlic
I thin it out with water or lime
