It may not be
my favourite game of this generation, but it is right up there in my top five, and has done a lot to make the cowboy cool again.

During this console
generation, the superhero that we affectionately call the Caped Crusader has cemented himself as gaming's
favourite fictional crime fighter, thanks to the release and resulting popularity
of two incredible
games from Rocksteady that set the bar for future genre efforts.
The revival
of 2D platformers might be my
favourite aspect
of the 7th
generation of games, and
of course that includes Mario Bros., but the bar has definitely been raised, as the genre has come along in leaps and bounds since 2006.
It's probably nowhere near Uncharted 2's level
of technical excellence, but Darksiders is still one

Everything is so bright and colourful and the quality
of the
game on a large screen via the PS4 Pro was so sharp and crisp — it's easily one
of my
favourite 2d platformers this
generation.
Bioshock is probably my

generation of games, so I was really looking forward to Bioshock Infinite.
The first Lords
of Shadow is one

Even Sonic
Generations, which incorporated an entirety

favourite zones didn't include any levels from Sonic 3 across both versions except for a token Big Arm boss fight from Launch Base Zone in the 3DS version, although, it's quite clear that this is a part
of the original
game that Jackson probably didn't put his music to.
Red Dead Redemption was one
of my absolute
favourite games of the last
generation.
In a lot
of ways this
game is one
of my
favourite shooters
of not only this
generation, but ever.
A couple
of my
favourites of the sixth
generation of consoles had to have been the two Star Wars Battlefront
games.
Red Dead Redemption is one

My expectation for Ninja Gaiden II was sky high long before it was even revealed, not because
of hype, but because the original Ninja Gaiden on Xbox was quite simply my
favourite game of the last console
generation - an astonishing, epic action
game that achieved perfection in almost every area and kept me playing though its hugely challenging singleplayer
game for something like eighty hours.
In terms
of game announcements, they have to dazzle; big name
games are vital, but a few fan
favourites and some credible indie projects will show that they each understand where the future
of their business lies — they need to empower and harness this new
generation of independent
game developers.
SotC was one
of my
favourite games from the last
generation of consoles, and ICO was pretty damn good too, this looks like it might surpass both, I can not wait to see more.
