As with yesterday's post, here
again we have a short - form work that was eventually expanded on and turned into a
feature - length
film by the
director of the original.
This is some of the best character work I've seen in any movie,
featuring some of the best character actors, and with a writer /
director team known for endless subtle touches, it's a
film you can watch
again and
again, and never tire of.
The
film features a period - perfect recreation of late - 1950s America and a gloomily oppressive portrait of East Berlin after the construction of the Berlin Wall, a sharp screenplay co-written by Ethan Coen and Joel Coen, and the directorial signatures that remind us
again that Spielberg is one of the great
directors.
The Blu - ray also
features astounding interactive content with over two hours of amazing extras such as The
Director's Notebook, an epic multimedia behind the scenes exploration of ROBIN HOOD and the amazing Rise and Rise
Again extra which offers an intimate insight into Sir Ridley Scott's intricate
film making process and the fine detail and craftsmanship that went into the production.
Those concerned that Quentin would go into hiding yet
again were relieved when the
