Windows Insider build for Microsoft's flagship operating system.

Microsoft has released a list of all the new
features in the
Windows 10 PC preview build 14942 that's currently rolling out to
Insiders on the Fast ring.
This is a big update for
Windows; we're looking forward to
Insiders getting their hands on this new
feature for further testing, and we'll have much more to share on what it is and how it works soon, so stayed tuned.
Often the engineering team will engage directly with
Windows Insiders, answering questions in the forums, offering workarounds for known issues, and capturing more conversational
Insider feedback in order to take back into their
feature - planning process.
Microsoft has released a new
Windows 10 Mobile preview build today, giving Fast Ring users of the company's
Insider program the ability to test a range of new
features and improvements in their upcoming smartphone operating system.
Note: Right now, the Nearby Share
feature is only available if you're part of the
Windows 10
Insider Preview program.
In addition to these builds, users can opt - in to test preview builds of new
features as «
Windows Insiders,» just as people could test preview builds of
Windows 10 before it was released.
The
Insider program includes three levels of readiness known as «rings,» including Fast, Slow, and Release Preview, to allow developers and enthusiasts to get early access to upcoming
features and improvements, to provide feedback to help shape the future of
Windows 10.

So this feedback is based on unreleased
features which haven't been tested by the
Windows Insiders you're thanking for their feedback?
If you're interested in providing help or suggestions, these
features have been released in pre-release builds and we welcome your feedback via the
Windows Insider Program.
Improvements to Virtual Desktops: We've addressed your # 1
feature request for Virtual Desktops from
Insiders — you can now drag a
window to a Virtual Desktop!
New
Windows Mixed Reality
features are now available for Fast ring
Insiders to check out in
Windows 10 build 17115.
Now available to try out as part of
Windows Insider preview build 17120, full support for the
feature comes months after Microsoft first began adding support for elements of Variable Fonts in build 17074.
We have been testing with
Windows Insiders a preview of the «Messaging everywhere»
feature that allows you to receive and send text messages from your
Windows 10 phone directly to and from your
Windows 10 PC.
Today, we are releasing

However, we received feedback from
Windows Insiders that the InPrivate
feature was either hard to find or missing on their phones.
Starting today, developers in the
Windows Insider Program can access the
Windows Anniversary SDK Preview to explore the new
features.
The
Windows 10 version of the digital assistant will gain this
feature in the Anniversary update due out this summer, but
Windows Insiders on the Fast and Slow rings already have it.
This has been a top
feature request by
Windows Insiders and we're happy to get it out to you in this build.
A lot of the new
features and improvements in the
Windows 10 Anniversary Update came directly from feedback from
Windows Insiders such as extensions in Microsoft Edge and making Cortana easier to setup for people with various language settings.
It doesn't look like this production ring update includes the SMS messaging or SMS Relay
features that were recently added to Skype Preview for Fast ring
Windows Insiders.
Available for
Insiders to test now as part of
Windows 10
Insider preview build 17115, the additional
features include a new Skyloft environment to explore, improved performance and haptic feedback for SteamVR games, and more.
If you're a
Windows Insider running the Workstation or Enterprise edition, you can see these
features in Builds 17079 or greater.
However, if you're a Fast ring
Insider with build 17115 installed, you can get an early preview of these new
features on your
Windows Mixed Reality headset now.
As said, this new
feature has been recently introduced in
Windows 10 Build 17035 for
Windows Insiders.
Microsoft shipped the Controlled Folder Access
feature as part of the
Windows 10
Insider Preview Build 16232, released yesterday evening.
If you're running
Windows 10 Pro for Workstations and don't mind your system eating up some additional electricity,
Insiders who have opted into the program's «Fast» ring — allowing them to receive
features faster than regular
Insiders — will now be able to test a new
Windows 10 power scheme called «Ultimate Performance.»
Now this is a
feature we can enable in
Windows 10 Enterprise
Insider.
Microsoft has released a list of all the new

Also available is «Skip Ahead» build 17627 for
Insiders who want a preview of what Microsoft has in store after it releases the next major
Windows 10
feature update this spring.
Microsoft hasn't revealed when the Fall Creators Update will debut, but members of the
Windows Insider Program have gained access to more and more
features over the last few months.

Windows Insider Program and would love to be able to test more business - oriented
features internally.
Windows 10 preview build 17634 is now available to Skip Ahead
Insiders with a handful of new
features and improvements.
A few weeks ago, we announced a new
Windows 10
feature called «Sets» (we may end up calling it something else by the time it ships) which would be coming to
Windows Insiders as a controlled study.
The new
feature, already available to
Windows Insiders, allows over 270 file types to be opened without having a native application installed locally.

Insiders, bringing along the new Sets
feature, along with several general changes and improvements.
Today, I'm excited to announce new
features that are beginning to roll out to the
Windows Insider Program, and eventually all
Windows 10 users, to deliver on our promise of helping you get more done throughout your day.
If you're comfortable with using pre-release software, you can join the
Windows Insider Program today to download the
Windows 10 Technical Preview and try out
features like the new Start menu, multiple desktops, snap enhancements, and others.
With this build,
Insiders in the Slow ring can check out the new
features coming with the
Windows 10 Anniversary Update including
Windows Ink, updated Start, and more.
If you are an
Insider who doesn't have a
Windows phone, these
features will also work with Android devices too but you will need Cortana Version 1.5 or higher (Download here for U.S. and download here for China) for them to work.
As Bill stated, we're incredibly honored to have IT Pros participating in the
Windows Insider Program and to be evaluating
Windows 10 and its
features as part of their deployment process.
