You could also take a look at more of an animal - based fat like grass -
fed tallow or pasteurized lard or,
if you are not too sensitive to

if you tolerate
butter then I would suggest some grass -
fed butter.
If this is all your body is getting and you are using grass -
fed butter there is no need to worry about the intake.
Today I used toasted Dandelion root tea as my basis, and
if you don't mind the slight bitterness, the toastiness mixed with the grass
fed butter and virgin coconut oil is superb!
If you are vegan I have placed in some substitutions for the raw grass -
fed butter, but of course you will lose that traditional buttery fudge taste and end up with a slightly more coconutty one but I don't think this is a bad thing and all, and you will probably find that it feels like an even cleaner treat doing so.

As far as toppings go, when I have paleo pancake parties I like to use organic pure maple syrup, blueberries, coconut flakes, cinnamon... and definitely a little grass -
fed butter (or you could drizzle with a bit of coconut oil
if you don't eat
butter).
It is always a good idea to add grass -
fed butter or ghee to squash, pumpkin, sweet potato or carrot dishes
if possible to enhance the nutrient synergy.
If you tolerate dairy, then grass
fed butter would probably work very well here.

Experiment with incorporating good fats like grass -
fed butter, avocado, grass -
fed ghee, unrefined coconut oil, extra-virgin olive oil (unheated is best), omega - 3s (fish and fish oil supplements), and most nuts (
if not roasted, then ideally soaked and dehydrated).
As we learned in earlier chapters, dairy doesn't work for most people, so I recommend avoiding it, except for the occasional yogurt, kefir, grass -
fed butter, ghee, and even cheese
if it doesn't cause any problems for you.
If you have some grass -
fed butter and cream around feel free to try the traditional version, but it's nice to have a dairy - optional version on hand as well.

Protein Priority:
If you drink a green juice and have two eggs fried in grass
fed butter with it, it will probably be fine, but that is not what I usually see my clients doing.

fed buttering ghee, that's great.
If a restaurant follows these basic healthy principles, they are also likely to serve real maple syrup, grass
fed butter, and organic tofu — but you can always ask!
If you're only eating gluten - free rice cakes and almond
butter, you won't be
feeding your body the vitamins and minerals it needs to function.
I try to put cinnamon on those, too, because it helps with insulin sensitivity and then you can choose abundant amounts of good, organic, clean vegetables; high quality fats whether it's coconut oil, grass -
fed butter, or
if you can't tolerate
butter, ghee may be better; avocado oil, I use the Marks Primal Mayo for my mayonnaise because it's really good mayo with grass -
fed eggs and avocado oil versus all the soy in canola; and then you high quality meat.
