feed infants.
I always suggest to mothers to try homemade formula made with cow
milk first because although
goat milk is wonderfully rich in brain building fats, it must be used with caution in infant
feeding as, unlike cow
milk,
goat milk lacks folic acid and is low in the nutrient vitamin B12 both of which are critical to the proper growth and development of a baby.
When
milk is introduced, raw is best and non-homogenized 2nd best — always organic from grass
fed cows or
goats
My main exception is when (and if) you can find products made from grass -
fed cows, especially from
goats or sheep which tend to be better tolerated than cow's
milk for many people.
Anchovies, salmon, sardines, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, flaxseeds, black sesame seeds, walnuts, black beans, red beans, kale, spinach, blueberries, acai, plums, grapes, eggplant, red pepper, tomato, soy
milk, low - fat yogurt,
goat cheese, turkey, chicken, egg whites, grass -
fed beef, olive oil, garlic, turmeric, green tea.
So, you can't
feed your baby nothing but breast
milk, and then
goat milk (or yogurt / kefir) forever.
I understand it's not exactly Paleo but I limit it to mostly varieties from raw
milk / grass -
fed cows or
goat / sheep's
milk rather than cow's
milk.

Palm oil, camphor tree oil,

fed butter or ghee are all good sources of MCTs as well.
I make 3/4 of a quart of kefir made from raw
milk from organicly
fed goats.
