So I just don't get the «too much pressure to breastfeed» when all around me are images of bottles, ads for formula telling me a happy
feeding makes a happy
mom, bottlefeeding
moms,
moms and doctors and nurses telling new
moms that formula is «just as good» and «not to feel guilty», women getting «the look» for nursing
in public, or feeling weird about doing it (I sure did)-- to me, any pressure out there is NOT to breastfeed, or do it as little as possible (not if it's not immediately easy or you don't love every minute, not past 6 mos, not
in public, not around male relatives and friends, not around children, not if you ever want to go out alone sometime...)
While I decided to focus primarily on older children
in this post, many women on Twitter chimed
in that they are nursing their kids to age two as well, including: Reiza at Stepping Off the Spaceship, Summer at Wired for Noise,
Mom Most Traveled, Annie at PhD
in Parenting, Sherri at Recovering Sociopath, and Sara (who was breast -
fed herself until age 4 1/2) at Custom - Made Milk, among others.
I was a first time
mom and I had my heart set on breast
feeding, but what no one mentioned to me was that following a c - section my milk would come
in slower than someone who had not had a c - section.

Lost Libido After giving birth,

feed your child, here are a few responses that have been empowering to other
moms:
A number of breastfeeding programs and initiatives were
in place like the Best
Fed Beginnings (BFB) which supports skin - to - skin contact of baby and
mom right after delivery.

in Massachusetts will no longer give baby formula and other freebies to new
moms, thanks to officials intent on promoting breast -
feeding.
This pillow and similar options offer support and comfort, especially if a
mom is sitting up
in bed to
feed baby.
Second, I think it is highly possible that BW
moms notice difficulties
in lacation sooner than demand
feeding moms.
Since the BW
mom is attempting to maintain a schedule, she will notice irregularities
in her baby's eating pattern sooner than the
mom who is
feeding at random times.
It is such a piece of furniture
in the baby nursery that is design for
feeding mom for a number of purposes, precisely for
feeding and soothing the baby.
In contrast, menses returning later is linked to round - the - clock breastfeeding, the infant preferring to suck the
mom's breasts instead of pacifiers or
feeding bottles, and late solid food administration.
