survey published in Pediatrics.
According to data from the latest iteration of the Infant
Feeding Practices
Survey (2005 - 07), among U.S.
moms of healthy, full - term infants, 85 percent have used a breast pump at some point, 25 percent pump their milk regularly, and six percent pump exclusively.
The
survey found that
feeding was the number one topic from new
moms, according to 52 percent of
survey respondents, and almost all pediatricians (97 percent) say
feeding was one of the top three questions new
moms ask about.
Today, three in four
moms who took our
survey said they start
feeding baby solids when baby is at least five months old — and nearly half wait to
feed solids until baby is at least six months old.
