Not exact matches
In some ways this has slightly tarnished the sense
of these weapons being technologically superior to ours, especially with
sniper rifles that only hold one bloody round, as they
feel almost exactly like current day weapons, but on the other hand it has made them far more satisfying to use as they really do
feel like they have power.
Also, the weapons don't
feel like they have much power to them at the moment, sometimes taking insane amounts to put an enemy down and just
feeling a bit useless, especially when compared to those sodding rocket launchers
of doom and that
sniper rifle with max damage stats.
There also appears to be absolutely no bullet delay (that or the hit - box REALLY lags behind), you can literally one - shot someone from the other side
of the map with a
sniper rifle whilst they're running providing you're aiming on them when you fire, which makes the kill
feel kinda cheap.
Its hard to beat the
feeling of beating the friend next to you with a last second shot with the
sniper rifle.
Since the four different
sniper rifles available to you are not silenced in any way there's a couple
of different systems at work to allow you to remain nothing but a grim reaper to the enemy, the results
of your actions
felt but your physical presence never seen.
Camping out on a roof or in a window is certainly possible in Titanfall, and the game has
sniper rifles in an attempt to support this type
of gameplay, but players move so quickly and erratically that
snipers feel like they're at a real disadvantage... which further incites more players to run around like maniacs at all times.
This mode ditches the
sniper rifle and gives you two submachine guns and a shotgun, neither
of which
feel great, but ironically handle better than the
sniper rifle.
And Call
of Duty: Black Ops makes you
feel like a one - man warrior in the vein
of James Bond himself, with the likes
of a ballistic knife and
sniper rifle.
Many
of them
feel like they were taken right out
of Halo: the over-powered pistol, shotgun,
sniper rifle and carbine (now with different names) and enemies have a needler - like weapon.
I'm replaying it because I
feel like I missed out on a lot the first time through as the game is ridiculously easy... You effectively have x-ray vision from the very start
of the game and
sniper rifles make conquering the island a joke.
The matches are incredibly fast - paced, leaving no room for error and, at the time
of writing this, the weapons
feel unbalanced, forcing you to play with a single - shot
rifle or as a
sniper if you hope to stand a chance.
