I think it is one
of the most difficult tasks to depict genuine change in a human being
within the length
of a
movie without it
feeling cheesy.

of schlock he's trying to recreate (again adding to a
feeling of superiority over material that the
movie claims to respect — or at least like).
Further complicating things is the fact that there are various factions
within the Darkness that are not above shooting at each other and it's never quite clear why, and the game has a love
of bombastic dialog filled with references to things that make you
feel like you're watching the third
movie in a trilogy without having seen the first two films.
