There's plenty of length in the suspension travel which gives it a wonderfully relaxed
feeling over bigger bumps and makes it a very nice place to do a long journey (just as well, given that we covered about 1500 miles in one while delivering it to the launch location in Tuscany).

felt like heaven to wear with its jersey material — it stretched right
over that
big ol'
bump of mine!
There is a fair amount of roll and the chassis doesn't
feel unbearably stiff —
over the
big kerbs it's wonderfully pliant, in fact — but body control is good when the corners come thick and fast and the car isn't unsettled by
bumps.
You
feel little surface ripples shudder up through the structure and there's a bit of steering kickback
over bigger lumps and
bumps, too.
Then you ride
over a
big bump and realize you didn't
feel it.
Our test car is fitted with the optional air suspension and
over smaller
bumps and imperfections in the road surface the car is very settled indeed, although
bigger potholes and expansion joints did crash through the (very solid -
feeling) structure.
With the roof down, there's some shake through the windscreen frame and steering wheel
over bigger bumps, but the body generally
feels stiff.
The relatively low ride height and lowish - profile tires on the Cherokee made it
feel somewhat fragile, but it performed well
over all but the
biggest bumps.
