than hardwoods,
tile or grass.
The new
tile based selection interface is also a welcome addition, allowing for quick and easy navigation around the menus that
feels a lot more intuitive
than in previous entries.
The home screen has a bunch of Live
Tiles that you can resize and move anywhere you want, and they flip and turn periodically, giving the interface a more dynamic
feel than Android or iOS.
That rainfall showerhead and pebble
tile floor may look beautiful in a photograph, but some minor water motions will make buyers
feel like they're taking part in the spa - like experience rather
than just looking at a picture of a home.
A wall - mounted toilet and vanity unit maximise floor space and the combination of limestone
tiles, chrome and mirror ensure the room always
feels larger
than it actually is.
I'm pretty sure it's impossible to
feel anything other
than cheerful in a room that is outfitted with a handpainted
tile backsplash, hex
tile countertop, yellow & white checkerboard floor, vintage sink and cornflower blue cabinet doors.
Because that sink wall runs all the way across through to the family room, once we saw the
tile going up we
felt like we needed to connect the walls rather
than divide them too much with
tile just in the kitchen.
This
tile is definitely more neutral
feeling than other
tiles you'll find throughout homes in hot climates, but you need to repeat the warmth of natural tones in wood or wicker as shown above.
For the floor, I chose black marble basketweave
tiles (with white centres), rather
than the reverse combination that was previously there, to create a more polished, luxurious
feel in the space.
The mirrored panel on the side of this bath and the almost seamless colour match between the walls and floor
tiles combine to make this simple room
feel bigger
than it is.
I dint know what I love about this home the most: the pecky cypress, the gorgeous coffered ceilings, the light and airy
feel... oh and that master bath
tile wall One edit... the kitchen cabinetry looks more like BM Stonington Gray to me
than White Dove.
Laying the
tiles vertically rather
than horizontally adds an unusual twist and draws the eye upwards, making the room
feel taller.
