After lots of traveling (and more to come soon) I
feel like I just want to do nothing for a couple days:) Ive also been getting in the holiday spirit lately... listening to Christmas music,
watching holiday
movies, finishing up my shopping (aka ordering stuff online).
This action platformer
felt like a coked - up twelve - year - old's idea of a platformer
after he
watched too many sci - fi
movies.
I
felt like peeling out in the parking lot
after watching this
movie.
We revel in familiar territory,
movie trivia, and the like, but
after a week, a day, maybe an hour, it doesn't have the staying power of
watching Arnold Schwarzenegger telling a guy he just pinned with a knife to, «Stick around,» and any attempt to recapture the loosely played one - liners
feels far too forced.
After watching the film on DVD nearly a year later, my enthusiasm was somewhat tempered but I still
felt that it was a great
movie.
The fact it was a prequel to the original classic
movie had me worried, but
after seeing it all I can do is offer praise that it was made, as it stiches together many plot gaps from the original
movie to make
watching them back to back viable... maybe not that scarey... but then the original had the benefit of being outstanding SFX for the era, modern CGI
movies never
feel as physical and scarey.
After watching a film like Pulse, I
feel a bit insulted that
movie executives think so little about the intelligence of the American
movie - going public that the vast majority of the attempts at popular entertainment are completely stripped of anything remotely resembling a thought - provoking element, eschewing those in favor of noise, special effects and music stimuli to try to induce a subconscious reaction in the audience.
It's a strange little plot twist —
after all, the inciting incident of the film is literally Amy quitting the organization and
feeling all the better for it — but even a film called «Bad Moms» can't spend its entire runtime chronicling drunk moms accosting security guards in supermarkets or decadently sneaking out to
watch a midday
movie with their pals.
Not containing the wit to be smart, thrilling sci - fi nor the chutzpah to embrace a fun, B -
movie shlock vibe, it unfortunately
feels like an uninspired TV pilot that any other network would've permanently locked in a vault... At first, it has the
feeling of being dropped into a season finale with characters we should know more about, then
after the bland exposition, muddled motivations, and nonsensical developments, one realizes they'd never want to
watch what came before anyways.
Inventing the Abbotts is a gem of a film, with an original
feel, a spectacular cast, an ease of delivery, and a time capsule approach made doubly awesome
watching the
movie almost 20 years
after it was made.
This
movie really isn't any cinematic genius, and I
felt like I needed to step away from all of the true gems of the 90s as I've been going through in recent weeks, especially
after watching Sam Mendes»
It turned out to be a mutual
feeling, as Rob Reiner had wanted to make a Stephen King
movie after watching The Shining.
But
after watching this new trailer for Universal's new
movie Blockers, in which the three actors play parents who team up to sabotage their daughters» pact to lose their virginity on prom night, I
feel like Switch from The Matrix: «Not like this... not like this.»
After watching this
movie, you may
feel inspired to examine your life for those seemingly insignificant moments that have had an impact on you, and to reflect on how you treat others.
After watching this vid, it's not gonna
feel right
watching some other crew play Drake, Elena, and Sully in the
movie.
After watching In Good Company, I
felt the second dream was the perfect way to settle the residue emotions from the
movie.
After they
watch the
movie, I invite families to get curious about the idea that emotions are «energy in motion» in our bodies, and I encourage them to notice what that energy
feels like in their body (a pounding head, racing heart, a warm wave of water washing over their whole body, butterflies in the tummy, etc.).
