females of Australopithecus taxa from about 2 million years ago in South Africa ranged more widely than their males and an analysis published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences this week says tooth wear analysis indicates the diet of Homo
habilis was more like that of Australopithecus than later Homo.
