Based on the information available
from both sides, I don't think it is possible for anyone (short of Green Pastures, the company producing the
fermented cod liver oil in question) to know the answers to all of the questions that many people are asking right now.
We use the Green Pastures brand of
Fermented Cod Liver Oil (usually with High Vitamin Butter
Oil added) which I get
from here.
Many women find they do better
from consuming enough healthy fats and proteins in early pregnancy (magnesium aside) and
Fermented Cod Liver Oil is a great source of healthy fats.
What to do: True vitamin A, called retinol, is only found in animal products like fish, shellfish,
fermented cod liver oil,
liver, and butterfat
from grass - fed cows.
In any case, 3000 μg RAE (10,000 IU) per day
from all sources during pregnancy appears to be well within a safe upper limit according to most data; the Weston A. Price Foundation recommends at least 20,000 IU during pregnancy

All this led me to buy the book and my question to you is were you ever concerned with your daughter getting too much vitamin A to vitamin D

First, I oppose taking
fermented cod liver oil; I think the fermentation is all too likely to create toxic compounds

We introduced raw milk and cheese,
fermented cod liver oil / butter
oil blend, cell salts, milk kefir, bone broth which is hard to get him to drink, smoothies with cream / raw egg yolks / crushed egg shells / great lakes gelatin / trace mineral drops, butter
from grassfed cows, free - range eggs, grass - fed / pastured meats and organ meats hidden in to meals.
Keep in mind that sometimes the
fermented cod liver oil can cause a slight burning sensation in the throat, which is due to the beneficial lactic acid
from the fermentation.
Funny thing is, since I eliminated that food
from my diet, as well as included more nutrient - dense foods like bone broths,
fermented and cultured foods, butter, cream, cheese, home - made yogurt, meat, poultry, eggs, seafood, olive
oil, coconut
oil, organ meats and
fermented cod liver oil, my panic and anxiety has gone away completely.
It is rich in healthy EPA and DHA fats (which may in fact best be obtained

liver oil aren't possible for you due to a seafood allergy, note that you can obtain fat soluble vitamins in other foods valued by other Traditional cultures such as raw, grassfed butter (must be deep yellow to orange in color — sources), fish eggs (many can tolerate fish eggs even with a seafood allergy), emu
oil from emus eating their native diet (sources), deep orange yolks
from pastured hens, and
liver from land based animals.
I'm very suspicious of all supplements, but after much research I decided to start taking
fermented (unflavored)
cod liver oil from Green Pastures.
After seeing the report
from one of the people who should know what is going on at the Weston Price Foundation, I was very concerned that I have been promoting the
fermented cod liver oil as well as the Foundation for a wonderful go to place.
