Like most of the other
fermented dairy drinks on the market, Yakult is sweetened.
Kefir:
Fermented dairy drinks like kefir, rich in the beneficial probiotic Lactobacillus acidophilus, have been shown to improve complexion over a period of 3 months.
It's the company's third category specific stevia sweetener, the other two being Sigma - Tea and Sigma - Dairy, formulated specifically to go with
fermented dairy drinks.
I've opted to use two different types of
fermented dairy drinks, rather than juice (which is often a part of Bircher Muesli) to get a more diverse live culture strain in the oats.
More recently, kefir,
a fermented dairy drink, has grown in popularity, thanks to the knowledge that probiotic bacteria in this beverage plays a role in gut health and may be beneficial for immune health as well.
Not exact matches
Many of us have read Nourishing Traditions, or at least become familiar with the perspective that it offers: soak, sprout, or sour your grains, nuts, and legumes, eat meats from pastured animals,
drink and eat raw
dairy, eat whole, organic foods, seek out traditional superfoods like
fermented cod liver oil, learn how to prepare food traditionally, and become truly nourished!
To avoid constipation, one needs to
drink more water, eat
fermented dairy products and foods rich in fiber (raw vegetables, fruits, whole grain bread).
Humans are attracted to
fermented food and
drinks, including wine, beer, bread,
fermented meats like pepperoni and
fermented dairy like cheese and yogurt, he said.
The fact that adult Europeans are twice as likely as Asians to tolerate lactose in milk (no location yet) reflects a much longer history of
dairy farming in the West; the ability to dehydrogenate alcohol (chromosome 4) is more common in people with a history of
drinking fermented fluids; the prevalence of the blond - hair gene in young northern Europeans (perhaps on chromosome 15?)
This is why many are able to consume
fermented dairy — i.e. cheese and yogurt — better than
drinking straight pasteurized milk.

This diet is super healthy and does allow plenty of choices: meat, fish, vegetables (peas & green beans are fine), nuts (not peanuts which are a legume), fruit, «safe starches» (rice pasta, sweet / white potatoes and white rice), wine (which I like but don't
drink due to Rx), healthy fat like lard, butter, cream, olive oil and coconut oil,
dairy, chocolate, eggs,
fermented vegetables and some safe sweeteners such as rice syrup.
In about 1.5 -2.5 years and when all
fermented dairy products are introduced, you may be able to
drink raw unpasteurized organic milk.

It's good to know that even if
dairy causes you acne, there are still other
fermented foods and
drinks which can help in improving your gut health.
Drinking probiotic beverages like kombucha, water kefir, and beet kavas; making and eating [daily] a portion of lacto -
fermented vegetables like sauerkraut, kimchee and pickles and enjoying raw milk, yogurt,
dairy kefir and other
fermented dairy products is excellent and so very healing.
In traditional diets, they consumed so many more enzymes than we get in our modern diet (through
fermented foods and
drinks, raw meat and
dairy, etc).
