University of Groningen physicists have taken a big step towards this goal by combining a niobium doped strontium titanate (SrTiO3) semiconductor with
ferromagnetic cobalt.
The spin - valve consisted of two
ferromagnetic cobalt layers, one superconductive niobium layer with thickness of approximately 150 atoms and a layer of gold.
Not exact matches
The electrons in
ferromagnetic materials — like iron, nickel and
cobalt — tend to align so that their spin is oriented in the same direction.
These
ferromagnetic elements are the metals iron,
cobalt and nickel.
