Timing
ovulation can be an effective method to get pregnant more quickly, because right before, and
during ovulation, a woman's body is most fertile for conception: the cervical fluid aiding the sperm mobility to swim more quickly towards the fallopian tube to
fertilize the egg.
At this stage, the mature egg that was
fertilized in the fallopian tube at the time of
ovulation has made its way down into the uterus and has already attached itself to the uterine wall
during the implantation process.
This means that although eggs may be released
during ovulation, there are oftentimes defects in these eggs that do not allow them to be
fertilized in such a way as to produce a normal pregnancy.
PMS occurs
during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, which begins after
ovulation and lasts about 14 days, ending with menstruation if an egg has not been
fertilized.
