Of all the variations, the two favorites are either the recipe above, or this one: In addition to the basic batter, add chopped Heath bars, chocolate chips, real white chocolate chips, chopped macadamia nuts and a
few chopped
dried tart
cherries.
I added a
few things: 1/4 cup golden raisins, 1/4
dried cherries, 1/4 cup pecans all chopped in a food processor.
If the mixture feels too
dry, add a
few drops of water (you can use the
cherry water too).

Simply combine
dried fruits such as dates, blueberries, cranberries, dark
cherries and sultanas with a little lemon juice and zest, gently heat, add rum or brandy and leave to macerate a
few hours or overnight.
