Originally released on Sega Genesis and SNES, the beloved titles saw
a few early ports but have since been stifled by licensing rights, preventing them from appearing on modern services like the Virtual Console.

Basically every new system over the last
few generations has relied to bigger or lesser extent on
ports / remakes to pad out their
early lifespan without being a detriment to their success.
They released IBM PC
ports of a
few games very
early on, however, it was not until after 1985 that Broderbund would seriously develop for PC compatibles.
Although Super High Impact is one of the
few multi-platform sports games from the
early 1990s that looked and played better on the Super Nintendo, the
port we got on the Genesis isn't too shabby, either.
It'll probably get a
few games (mostly
ports in its
early lifecycle), but these companies seem to care more about tech and «power» than they do about interesting mechanics and gameplay opportunities.
