I know you guys said any added
oils aren't necessary, but for the spiced version I found that adding a
few tablespoons of coconut oil not only brought it back to its beautifully smooth and creamy consistency but also added a wonderful
flavor.
The technique is simple and straightforward (utilizing just a
few ingredients) and the dough is a welcoming canvas to all manner of seeds, salts, cheeses, spices, or
flavored oils that you might want to use as accents.
I can sum this up a
few words: partially hydrogenated
oils (TRANS FAT), cottonseed oil, TBHQ, soy lecithin (GMO ingredient), high fructose corn syrup, sorbitol (fake sugar), MORE TRANS FATS, MORE GMO's, natural and artificial
flavorings (unknown ingredients), and BHT (preservative known to damage DNA!).
These also include partially hydrogenated
oils (TRANS FATS), High Fructose Corn Syrup, artificial
flavors (unknown ingredients), and a
few GMO ingredients.
Most of these pseudo foods are composed of wheat, corn and soy, all subsidized by government programs, and
flavored with artificial
flavors, colors, a
few nutrients, and the ubiquitous MSG, and many are fried multiple times in unhealthy vegetable
oils (1).
There are usually a
few different types of
oils,
flavorings, preservatives and other sneaky ingredients in those absurdly loud plastic bags.
I added a
few drops of essential
oils at the end of stirring to enhance the
flavor.
