So, without the crutch of a third
piece, purse or jewelry you really need to make sure the
few ingredients you are wearing are high
quality, and by this I mean a
good bra.
That is why I rather cough out
good money and buy
quality than spend a
few quid on a
piece that wouldn't even last a season.
Personally, I think it is way
better to buy a little less clothes, but aiming for
quality and buying a
few great
pieces.
I've noticed this in the blogosphere as
well, a trend towards
fewer pieces of higher
quality instead of the Forever 21 arm party.
My shoe collection comes into it's own in the winter and I find myself relying on three key
pieces of footwear, a
quality loafer (these Russell & Bromley burgundy loafers are a firm favourite), a chic black boot (the pointier the
better for me & if you really want to pack a punch opt for a killer knee high boot like I did here) and of course a statement heel to steel the show (I have a
few I swap between, but I love these new season green heel boots which I featured here).
I would much rather spend more $ on
better quality and have
fewer pieces that I love, than to spend less $ on crap garments that drape terrible and are made by slave labor.
I went through the phase where I bought lots of cheap, disposable fashion, and then figured out that investing in a
few quality pieces ended up being a
better deal.
I'm a believer in
Quality over Quantity, in selecting
fewer, but
better pieces.
In the pictures I'm wearing a black silk shirt instead of a white which makes the look a bit dressier and easier to transition to a night out, not to mention I wore heels instead of boots so my point is, with the change with just a
few pieces you can create a total different vibe, so invest on
quality everyday

I think trying something like this and seeing it work would convince me that it's okay to pare down my wardrobe and invest in just a
few really
quality and versatile
pieces as long as they work
well together.
I loved this idea —
fewer, high
quality pieces that can be mixed and matched — but I was still hesitant to actually implement it because,
well, I like clothes and I like lots of options.
While there are a
few obvious assets the game is trying to convince you to buy it with, there are quite a
few pieces under the surface that show the developers know how to make a
quality game as
well.
