a few nonfiction books that benefit from the presence of an appendix.

nonfiction world,
books on subjects with a niche market — cooking, nature, hobbies, music, spirituality and travel, to name just a
few — fare best.
Although there are thousands of
books that address lofty topics like creativity, plot outlines, and the craft of different types of writing, there are relatively
few books devoted to helping authors create a system of time management habits and practices to write their
books — regardless of the types of fiction or
nonfiction book you want to write.
But here are a
few of the

In 1999, I was reading a
nonfiction book on runaway slaves and came across a
few lines and an endnote about an Antebellum divorce case from the Circuit Court in Talladega, Alabama (the city's lovely courthouse, built in 1836 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is still in use and is the oldest working courthouse in the U.S.).
At a gala ceremony in New York City, the 67th National
Book Awards gathered many of literature's leading lights in celebration of just a
few authors: Colson Whitehead, who won in the fiction category; Ibram X. Kendi, in
nonfiction; Daniel Borzutzky, in poetry; and Rep. John Lewis, Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell in young people's literature.

few publishers willing to invest in
nonfiction authors, who may require years to research and write histories, biographies, and other works, and in novelists, who may need the help of a substantial publisher to effectively market their

That means aspiring
nonfiction authors must ensure they write a
book deserving one of the
few open spots on bookstore shelves.
There seem to be too
few organizations dedicated to
nonfiction authors, so if you write articles and
nonfiction books, this organization is well worth joining.
I have a
few authors throughout the states who talk about and recommend my
books for authors when they are promoting their own fiction or
nonfiction books.

Am nowhere near your numbers, but I did run a free
book listing for my
nonfiction memoir CONTACT a
few months ago with Bookbub and got about 12,000 downloads which I thought was pretty amazing as not everyone wants to read a memoir of a soldier and combat etc...... I have run it free a
few times before on the FREE TO LIST sites you mention and never did more than about 3000 downloads each time so that definitely proves the value of Bookbub in terms of sheer numbers.
