Since I don't like wearing street shoes around my apartment (NYC sidewalks are n a s t y) I keep
a few pairs of loafers and flat shoes solely for inside use.

I brought a
few cute styles (including a
pair of 3 ″ heels) but wound up wearing a
pair of simple black
loafers almost exclusively.
Since my dress - up days are
few and far in between these days I'm most often rocking my bell sleeves with a
pair of skinnies and some metallic statement
loafers.
I wanted a
pair of loafers for years, not kidding, but I never found a
pair that fit my insanely narrow feet... until I stumbled over this beauties on the Dr. Martens website a
few weeks ago.
But I can't rely on this one look to keep me going, I need a
few capsule items to bolster my Spring wardrobe... my current thinking is a classic
pair of cropped or straight leg trousers (i'm loving these), a quality white shirt to throw on with everything, something a little special for weekends or evenings out (this jumpsuit has seriously caught my eye), maybe a flirty midi skirt for styling up and down (this one's gorgeous), and maybe a statement
loafer (these Gucci ones have stolen my heart).
Men need a great
pair of white kicks, about two to three designer dress shoes (depending on their work), one
pair of chelsea boots, one lace - up boot,
loafers, and a
few casual sneakers for the weekend / going out.
Today I'm wearing a
few of my best basics in one outfit: a white tee, a black summer trench, a
pair of high waisted jeans, a
pair of loafers and a black cross body bag.
I have a hard time paying a lot
of money for casual sandals for some reason (though I just dropped a hideous amount on a
few pairs of Gucci
loafers).
Anyone who knows me will tell you I love a really good
pair of loafers, I have had some success in the
loafer department and have accumulated a
few over the years because they are seriously such a classic shoe.
