I can't just go out and buy a bunch of pretty new stuff to hang on the walls, so I've painted a few things to make them look «new» and I actually did pick up a couple of things from the Dollar Store, but we are hoping to put up some family photos over the couch, and I need a few pretty things to go over my desk, but for now it will just have to be OK that these two rooms are clean, fresh, and new - to - us.

When we painted the kitchen and family room a few weeks ago I took the slipcovered wingback chairs that were in this room (you can see photos of this room with those chairs here) I decided to try switching the sets of chairs because I really liked how the slipcovered ones looked against the new darker gray mantel in the family room.

When walking into my home I have a small entry space and a large wall.At one time I thought I would put a bench there and maybe a mirror.But having such a small space with a door I did not think a bench would work.I found this piece of furniture a few years ago at a resale shop.I think it fits perfectly in this tight space.There is still plenty of room for my door to open.My front door is just to the right of the photo... but not seen.I change this often.This time I decided to add a window in front and a few other things too.I love layering pieces together.But I could not stop here.I found this old painting at a thrift store.

What you don't see in my photos is that there is a corner of the room where I store some photoshoot props and a few small pieces of furniture that I don't use much.
