Experience is earned through battle and by completing side - quests, which means that anyone who does
a few sidequests along the way should have little difficulty in clearing the game's main story.
The first 45 minutes are so are fairly linear — you're lead from room to room to your final target (though most rooms have a few ways to navigate through them)-- but once you get past them, the game opens up a bit, allowing you to explore Panama City and find
a few sidequests.

The most detail - involving storyline in any RPG I have met... one of
few RPGs that reward you accordingly for everything you do, such as looking for
sidequests or developing all your characters [eg you can use up to 12 out of the maximum 14 during the final battle.]
Few story missions and
sidequests are content with letting you do something once.
Additionally, Neocore is expanding on the tower defense sections, breaking them out into a lengthy set of
sidequests, and not a
few diversions from the main story.
Things such as eating, resting, completing
sidequests, a
few good fights in the streets, and even taking on
sidequests through various sources such as the newly implemented Troublr, offer varied ways to earn experience.
The best
sidequests in PC gaming have historically, for me at least, been
few and far between.
While in town there are a
few options players can undertake, this includes picking up
sidequests known as requests, and even take on the tasks of completing in - game challenges that will require players to complete such things as leveling up alchemy, jumping, visiting areas, gathering materials, or simply just completing combat scenarios.
Although not massively big as other RPGs, it offers enough optional areas and
sidequests for players to sink in a
few hours.
The hub city has been vastly expanded, the amount of playable characters has been increased to ridiculous levels (including GT and Super characters), a
few new missions have been introduced, some new
sidequests, and so on.
In more recent years, I've put in ungodly hours on Halos 1 and 3 (replaying every mission endlessly, working out master strategies for every last firefight... I'm proud of some of them) and the first Mass Effect (six complete playthroughs, replete with the inane
sidequests, plus a
few I didn't finish).
There are one or two surprises in store in
few of these
sidequests when The Bureau suddenly remembers to utilize its Cold War era setting but they are
few and far between.
Every
few weeks, she'll spend an hour with Stardew Valley, do a bit of crop work, talk to some people and maybe work on a
sidequest.
A
few of these missions would have been an interesting aside, but the repetition makes them feel tedious throughout the 15 or so hours of the game (including all the
sidequests).
