In the book, we
note that charter school
teachers report working longer hours, receiving
fewer benefits, and are more likely to cite frustration as a reason for leaving.
But at the same time, she resists easy comparisons to law or medicine: she

Expert practitioners also
noted that a STEM PLC with
teachers from multiple schools is a useful strategy when it is not possible to get more than a very
few teachers from a single school (e.g., a PLC focused on the work of high school physics or a PLC for mathematics or science
teachers in small schools in a rural area).
As Vellutino, Scanlon, Zhang, and Schatschneider (2008)
note, we could change the futures of roughly one - half of the students who begin kindergarten at risk of becoming struggling readers by providing expert tutorial services; 1st grade
teachers could do the same by providing expert tutorials or «very small» group lessons (with three or
fewer students).
In promoting the national TEACH campaign to encourage more minorities, especially males, to pursue careers in the classroom, U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan
noted that
fewer than 2 percent of public school
teachers are black or Hispanic men and that the need is greatest in elementary and middle schools.
As Dropout Nation has

few of the accountability systems allowed to replace No Child's Adequate Yearly Progress provision are worthy of the name; far too many of them, including the A-to-F grading systems put into place by such states as New Mexico (as well as subterfuges that group all poor and minority students into one super-subgroup) do little to provide data families, policymakers,

Additionally, students can look up their assignments, grades,
teacher notes, class schedule and activity calendar at any time, meaning they have
fewer questions for you.
