About one half of all mammary tumors are benign (not cancerous), which would fall into the category of
mammary fibroadenoma, tumors that form out of the glandular portion of the mammary gland.
Despite that both sides of my breast ducts were messed up
from fibroadenoma tumor removal surges (3 surges total).
Fortunately,
mammary fibroadenomas are more common than their malignant counterparts, mammary adenocarcinomas.
Breast cysts, fibrocystic changes, and
breast fibroadenomas may also cause fluctuating pain, even though all of these are benign breast conditions.
Unlike breast cancer,
a fibroadenoma does not cause nipple discharge, swelling, redness, or skin irritation around the breast.
Breast pseudolumps are not cancerous, nor are they a collection of abnormal but benign cells (such as in
a fibroadenoma.
Similarly, if you develop
a fibroadenoma during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, your doctor might wait until your hormone levels return to normal levels to see if the lump disappears on its own.
A radiologist will then check the images of your breast tissue to see if it's most likely
a fibroadenoma or another type of breast tumor.
Fibroadenomas are very common.
Your mammogram may show cysts,
fibroadenomas, tumors, or other lumps, and these may be made up of normal breast tissue, other kinds of tissue, or a foreign substance.
The most common cause of a single lump within a younger woman's breast is
a fibroadenoma.
Some of the names used include complex adenoma,
fibroadenoma and benign mixed tumor.
Other benign tumors include complex adenomas,
fibroadenomas, duct papillomas, and simple adenomas.
A mammary
fibroadenoma is a benign mammary gland tumor.
Mammary tumors can be divided into two groups, mammary
fibroadenomas and mammary adenocarcinomas.
