Special kudos must be given to
film editor Michael Kahn, whose facility with these completely unhinged battle sequences should shame anybody who's ever worked on a Michael Bay movie; to cinematographer Janusz Kaminski, who has given these scenes a dull grey
cast evocative of
nightmares torn from America's sleeping subconscious brain; and to sound designer Gary Rydstrom, who has crafted a World War II soundscape that rattles and unnerves you even when your eyes are closed.
The young
cast performs with a ferocity well beyond their years as the
film barrels towards its delicious conclusion that includes a
nightmare - inducing goat.

The first official
cast announcement was made on Wednesday on the
film's Facebook page, revealing that Tamara Glynn, who played Samantha in Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers and also appeared on Freddy's
Nightmares and Miami Vice, will return to the screen in I See You.
I'm proud to report that despite having a very skilled
cast of both younger and older actors doing it justice, the material propping up The Mortal Instruments is every YA genre skeptic's
nightmare, and the cinematic interpretation is such an overwrought, drab and cumbersome
film that it's not even a suitable popcorn - muncher to help pass the time.
Because of the great screenplay and even better
casting of complete unknowns, the
film has a feel much more like «Stand By Me» or «Stranger Things» than the
nightmare - ridden story most of us are familiar with.
And while the returning
cast (including Scott and Peck as Ellie's possum brothers) get a chance to expand their roles, the
film is stolen by Pegg's wonderfully mad Buck, a Captain Ahab character desperate to catch the legendary albino dinosaur that haunts his
nightmares.
