this film getting any nominations, but if it's good enough, it'll definitely be under some kind of a consideration.

Some of his more notable work came from his collaboration with director Spike Lee; over the course of the 1990s, Washington starred in three of his
films, playing a jazz trumpeter in Mo» Better Blues (1990), the title role in Lee's epic 1992 biopic Malcolm X (for which he received a Best Actor Oscar
nomination), and the convict father of a high - school basketball star in He
Got Game (1998).
Despite some genuinely hilarious sequences that, regrettably, are spaced too far apart, this meditation on the things that matter in life is too slow and at times too forced to deserve the high praise it has been
getting (including an Oscar
nomination for best foreign language
film that should have gone to a number of other more worthwhile pictures).
Allison Williams starred in Jordan Peele's Academy Award - nominated

GET OUT, for which she garnered a Screen Actors Guild ensemble
nomination for her performance.
That might be why it ended up with a whopping 14
nominations, and now remains the only
film to
get that many

The second Hanks
film this Fall isn't one that's going to
get him
nominations (though a Critics Choice Best Actor in an Action Movie nod could be a possibility).
So far Silver Linings has placed Lawrence and Cooper in privileged positions for Academy Award
nominations and not unlikely is the possibility of the
film getting recognition in the Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and of course Best Director categories.
Last year's crop, however, was a major exception to the rule: No Sundance
film got a best picture
nomination or any acting
nominations.

film in Toronto and I hope it
gets a
nomination.

«Theory of Everything» producer Lisa Bruce, whose
film got three
nominations, was pleased that both Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones were nominated, since their performances were so linked.

got close to Best Picture - Meaning, it has a powerful Oscar strategist behind it and it
gets enough
nominations to be «in the conversation.»

Of course, nobody would expect a Rob Zombie
film to
get any sort of attention at the Academy Awards, but I truly believe that if Moseley's terrifying performance as Otis Driftwood were nestled inside a more Oscar - friendly movie, he would've had no problem nabbing a
nomination.
Initialtly, Oldman was the man that Spielberg and other producers of the
film decided that Oldman was an easy
get nomination wise for the movie «The Contender».
Breakout horror
film,
Get Out, leads the pack with six
nominations, along with Beauty and the Beast and Stranger Things with four.
(The incredibly catchy tune, which plays umpteen times, was responsible for
getting the
film an Oscar
nomination for Best Original Song.)
Because, in all honesty, as good as he was in the
film, Zachary Quinto won't
get an Oscar
nomination... Golden Globe
nomination MAYBE...

The only major awards
nominations «All the Money» has a chance at are the BAFTAs (noms out Jan. 9) and The Oscars (noms announced Jan. 23)-- if Scott, Plummer and crew can
get filming and editing done in time.
«Dunkirk» is big and bold and «The Post» is serious and timely, but the
film with the most Globe
nominations, «The Shape of Water,» is gloriously imaginative filmmaking whose biggest competition might have been two
films that ended up being categorized as comedies, «
Get Out» and «Lady Bird.»
As we
get closer and closer to Oscar
nominations, guilds and other industry associations are announcing their nominees for the best in
film of 2012.
But we'd figured the
film as a whole would be a bigger contender this year, so it was slightly astounding that Jackie
got a whopping zero additional
nominations.
Oh, and Meryl Streep
got a
nomination for Into the Woods, because everyone loves Meryl regardless of the
film she shows up in.
Despite its enormous critical acclaim, «Silence» will be only the second Scorsese
film in the last 15 years to not
get a Best Picture
nomination.
We must also give kudos to Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon, who share a writing
nomination for «The Big Sick,» a
film that hasn't
gotten enough awards season love; Kazuhiro Tsuji, who is nominated, for the third time, this year for the «Darkest Hour» makeup; and Agnès Varda and James Ivory who, at 89, are our oldest nominees this year (and the oldest on record), for the documentary «Faces Places» and adapted screenplay of «Call Me by Your Name,» respectively.
Now, as the year closes out,
Get Out has become an awards season frontrunner, named Gotham Independent Film Awards» Best Feature and listed among the National Board of Review's top 10
films and earning a Golden Globe
nomination for Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.
Though the
film debuted to not terrible reviews, there also wasn't much buzz around Clint Eastwood
getting another Best Director
nomination, let alone the movie earning a Best Picture nod.
Speaking about The Florida Project, Baker lamented that it took a big name like Willem Dafoe for the
film to become a more mainstream success and
get award
nominations.
SNUB: Tom Hanks.Sully had already lost a lot of its steam going into awards season, but even if the
