finally able to spend a lot of time at our home - away - from - home with the majority of the structural renovations complete, the floors installed and finished, some walls
painted, a most incredibly bad - ass custom - built
kitchen island installed, and — I can hardly believe it — the justifiable urge to furnish and decorate.
After living in our home for over 5 years and dealing with my
kitchen that is basically a cave because it's so dark I think we're
finally going to take the plunge and make some changes, number 1 would be
painting our cabinets.
I'm about to pull everything out of my living, dining and
kitchen and
finally get it
painted so it will be a few weeks before I decorate for Fall.
After sitting on the fence, I
finally painted my cabinets white and it works for my

While most of my cabinets were
finally painted right before Christmas (along with my family room walls and trim and part of the horizontal planking in my little hall) my one «open cabinet» in the
kitchen was not able to be
painted as it had to have some finishing work done on the inside of it first.
It's not just a feeling that has come from
finally having completed projects like fresh
paint on the brick and new countertops in our
kitchen, although we do feel so grateful to be on the precipice of being able to cook a proper Christmas dinner in a new oven.

kitchen cabinet colors and how they turned out after they were
painted!
We haven't had a chance to
paint much in the
kitchen yet - but today is the day to *
finally * break out our brushes again!
Even though the
painting project kind of delayed and interrupted my Christmas decorating plans for the past couple of weeks, I couldn't be happier that this stage of the

finally this past month I got around to
painting my
kitchen cabinets white which made the biggest difference since there isn't a lot of natural light in this space.
It has taken me 3 years but I
finally convinced my husband to let me
paint my
kitchen cabs.
